BRIENZER ROTHORN

I finally had written my last exam for the semester and my summer really started here. I was excited to be in the mountains again after this somewhat stressful time and hiking around the Brienzer Rothorn in the midst of the crazy clouds was an amazing way to start my summer. I was really happy with some of the photos I brought home from this trip.

Instead of taking the famous Rothornbahn, which is essentially a small train that goes all the way up near the summit from Brienz, I took the much cheaper cable car from the other side of the mountain and once I had gotten to the top, I couldn’t believe my luck. There were some amazing looking clouds hanging in the mountains and above the brightly turquoise colored lake.

I spent a good few hours hiking around the trails on this beautiful ridgeline until the clouds got thicker and thicker and eventually swallowed up the whole scenery. I never got to see what the view from the actual Rothorn was like, but that would just be one more reason to visit this stunning place again. In the end, I returned home with a big smile on my face.
