This is a collection of some shorter trips I went on in the beginning of 2017. Unless you're going skiing, ..............
Even if I'm busy, I'm always trying to get out to the Alps. I was in the middle of my semester exams but it was also snowing quite heavily for the first time this winter so we decided to hop in the car and see what we could find in the snowy Alps.
Getting up early is definitely worth it sometimes. I had just finished all my exams the week before and couldn't wait to get back out into the mountains. As a result, we set our alarms and made sure we caught the sunrise at this frozen over lake. The day turned out to be a bit grey but it still felt great to be outside walking around in the snow.
It was a brisk morning at the frozen over Obersee Lake and we enjoyed the silence and solitude of this place. Escaping the busy life in the city is always great, especially when it involves a lake and some mountains. Fun fact: The reflection on the first photo is on ice and not on water.
It was already feeling a lot like spring here in Switzerland with quite warm temperatures and nice weather. This also means that a lot more of the Alps is accessible again and we used this opportunity to go on a short trip to Julier Pass which was still coated in a thick layer of snow. It was good to get out and just forget about everything else.
